In May 2023, Tshwane launched a three-year, R33 million water security project in collaboration with the Danish city of Aarhus. Funded by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the initiative aims to enhance the city’s capacity to manage water resources effectively. The project focuses on reducing non-revenue water losses, active leak detection, prioritizing pipe replacement, and improving wastewater management. Mayor Cilliers Brink highlighted the importance of learning from international partners to address local water challenges, including those in Hammanskraal.
