MAP Forum
Rooted in rivers, growing nationwide — advancing dialogue on water and climate in South Africa
The MAP Forum is a collaborative platform dedicated to protecting and managing South Africa’s water resources while strengthening climate resilience across the country. Originally focused on the Moreleta, Apies, and Pienaars river sub-catchments in Tshwane, the Forum has grown into a national hub for environmental dialogue, advocacy, and action.

At its core, the MAP Forum brings together stakeholders from all sectors—government, municipalities, the private sector, civil society, and local communities—to address the interconnected challenges of water security, ecosystem health, and climate change. Working closely with partners like the Limpopo-Northwest Catchment Management Agency, we promote sustainable solutions through shared knowledge, innovative collaboration, and grassroots engagement.
Our mission is to inform, inspire, and drive collective action. We do this through journalism, stakeholder dialogue, public awareness campaigns, and community-based initiatives focused on water quality, habitat restoration, climate adaptation, and more. By uniting diverse voices, we aim to catalyze practical change and support the long-term stewardship of South Africa’s vital natural resources.
The MAP Forum believes that sustainable progress begins with informed and empowered communities. As we continue to grow, we remain committed to building resilient ecosystems and inclusive partnerships—ensuring that future generations inherit a healthier, more equitable environment.
Join us in protecting our rivers, strengthening climate resilience, and shaping a sustainable future for South Africa.
