It is almost a year since a deadly cholera outbreak was recorded in Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria, resulting into many fatalities. Since then, the Tshwane municipality has continued to grapple with aging water infrastructure, damage of bulk water supply pipes and water outages, leaving residents with inadequate water provisions. In an effort to ensure a healthy supply of water to Hammanskraal residents, the municipality recently announced plans to upgrade the Rooiwal Waste Water Treatment Plant.
