In July 2022, the non-profit organization Hennops Revival received recognition for its efforts in cleaning and restoring the Hennops River in Centurion. Since November 2019, the organization has collaborated with the City of Tshwane, resulting in a formal Memorandum of Understanding in March 2022. Hennops Revival has created jobs for homeless individuals, women, and youth, while also providing opportunities for community volunteerism and corporate social investment. Despite challenges like vandalism and the need for additional funding, the organization remains committed to improving the river’s health.
