In August 2023, the City of Tshwane completed a R79 million project to construct a 10-megaliter reservoir in Refilwe township. This development aims to provide residents, who have long struggled with access to clean water, with a reliable water supply. The reservoir’s commissioning is pending the connection of electricity to the pump house, with efforts underway to expedite the process. The project faced challenges, including delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, vandalism, theft, and disruptions by local business forums.
